I completed my goal of making the connector corners in Step 1-4. I have to trim the seam to remove the bulk and square them up. The next step is to sew the rows and my new deadline for that step is

Okay, I need to get my Schnibbles done for the month of February.

I hope to do more than that...we'll see.

Finished cutting the blocks on time!!

Can you believe it? I've finished a quilt!! I started it a year ago and I just finished the hand-binding yesterday!!!

So excited, I now have finished two quilts:

1. Madeline (1/2010)
2. Hungry Caterpillar (2/2009-2/2010)

Can't wait for my list to grow!!!

Getting Quilts Done Challenge

I'm really trying to GET QUILTS DONE. I have nearly everything that I've purchased, dreamt about, started and nearly completed listed on my sidebar on my personal blog. I have so many quilts that I want to do and I'm sure you have more than your fair share, too.

I'm looking for a way to get these completed, so I'm going to publicly commit to the following monthly commitment:

1. Complete one block from all the monthly BOMs I have purchased or ones I've committed fabric to. List forthcoming.
2. Complete one quilt top each month.
3. Complete one quilt sandwiched and quilted each month.
4. Complete one quilt sandwiched, quilted and bound each month.

This is a tall order, but I really want to GET QUILTS DONE so I'll just have to be totally humiliated if I don't complete these committments.

I'd started this GETTING QUILTS DONE blog so I could just post about my finishes and I'll use that as a journal of completed quilts. I invite you to join my GETTING QUILTS DONE blog to post your committed challenge and then post about your completed quilts, including photos. Just send me an email at hooked.quilting @ gmail.com (remove spaces) and I'll give you rights to post there.

If you want to join in and really put yourself on the spot and make a commitment, please join me in this GETTING QUILTS DONE Challenge.

2010 - Are you getting quilts done?

I'm not--so far!!!

So, what can I do to stay focused? If you are having trouble, too, why not join this blog and post your projects and document your progress?

I want to say that I'm GETTING QUILTS DONE (GQD), do you?

If you want to be added as a blogger to post your quilts that you've purchased, you've started, your BOMs, whatever, please let me know.

If any of you are doing the same quilt/project, it would be nice to follow your progress and maybe together we'll finish them.

Schnibbles - September

Okay, I'm getting closer to quilting this September Schnibbles. I've added the borders and it's not too bad. I'll pick up some fabric for a backing/binding tomorrow and try to get it quilted. I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait for October's!

Schnibbles - Top Finished - Sort of

Well, I didn't quite get September's Schnibbles finished in time, but I did get the top finished. I'll try to get the borders added and quilt it before I start next month's. I didn't really have enough time since I got such a late start, but I wanted to join in the group!

Here's the top:

I did it with Halloween fabrics because I've been trying to get a wall hanging for every holiday and I might even get this one finished for Halloween.

Schnibbles - First Row Completed

I decided to do this little one by rows, usually I make all the blocks first, but just wanted to shake things up a bit.

I'm very excited that I might get this one done in September so I stay on track!

Looks a bit orange in the photo, hope that's the angle! Not sure I like it so dark in the center of the blocks...

Schnibbles - First Block

I need to get this done for the month of September so I did my first block. It's just in rows for now, but I thought I'd update you on my progress. I did it in Halloween fabrics so I could have a wall hanging to celebrate the holiday.

Not sure I'm loving the fabrics after all.

Today, I plan to cut into the FQs for the Schnibbles wall hanging.

My goal to GQD is just to cut the fabric, but if I get further, I'd be thrilled. I'll share photos as I go.

Let's Quilt!!!!

I'm really, really, really trying to "Get Quilts Done" and I thought maybe there are others out there that need support, too!

I'd set up a Yahoo! group called "Quilt-Watchers." We check in frequently, but I was thinking we might need more support and guidance and could use a blog to report all the "in progress" projects.

I invite our group to become bloggers with "Getting Quilts Done" in mind. I will give you rights to publish your projects and blog about them and then we can add comments to encourage you based on that project. This will help us pull together on each and every project we start.

Let's see how much fun and encouraging this can be!!
